Your participation in (or donation to) the Kansas Turkey Trot for Heroes provides the funding needed for our Christmas Outreach program, which gives the children of struggling Sheep Dogs (former and current veterans and first responders) gifts to open at Christmas. --Organ Vespers 2017: Tandy Reussner and Friends (Lawrence) -- 3:30pm. First United Methodist Church, 946 Vermont. Concert organist Dr. Tandy Reussner pulls together a program that features the largest pipe organ in Kansas with other instruments and voices, and then invites local musicians to participate in the crowd-favorite sounds of the season. This 90-minute family-friendly program is free, with donations accepted for local organizations that serve the Lawrence community. More information at

--Anderson Chandler Lecture Series (Lawrence) -- 7pm. Capitol Federal Hall. Byron Scott, former NBA head coach and player, and Charles Norris, a longtime business executive, will deliver the KU School of Business Anderson Chandler Lecture. Free and open to the public, but registration is required.
